We are looking for people who are passionate about empowering people
with disabilities to give back to their community. Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF) is the fundraising arm of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) whose mission is to provide recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

With your help, SLSF is building an Accessible Greenhouse adjacent to the NWSRA programming site located in the Wheeling Park District Community Center.

The Accessible Greenhouse will provide a space for ecological education that allows for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to fully participate in hands-on learning. NWSRA staff will collaborate with community volunteers to provide multi-generational educational courses on food production, water conservation, hydroponics, recycling, and composting.

You can give these individuals the opportunity to contribute and connect to their community through learning and growing. Participants will grow fruits and vegetables with the goal to regularly donate to local food pantries to help with the food security crisis.

By donating to the Accessible Greenhouse, you are helping give people with disabilities in your community the opportunity to experience the joy of growing and giving back.

To make a donation visit greenhouse23.givesmart.com

Donations of $250 or more will have their name on a leaf on a tree plaque inside the greenhouse.

If you have any questions regarding your gift, please contact Anne Kiwala at 847-392-2848, ext. 244 or email akiwala@slsf.me.

On behalf of all NWSRA families, thank you for helping us GROW! With Gratitude,
