Have you ever had the chance to have an experience you never thought was possible?  By donating to The Kevin T. Kendrigan Memorial Scholarship Fund, you are creating an opportunity for an individual with a disability to build lasting memories.

For Casey, that memory is horseback riding. Casey, a long time NWSRA participant, received a scholarship when her family needed assistance after the death of her father. Casey’s mother, a retired widow, applied for other avenues of financial help, but always seemed to fall through the cracks.

With the help of scholarship funding, Casey was able to get out on the field with the NWSRA Horseback Riding program. Participating in the program gave her more independence and the opportunity to do something she would not have experienced otherwise. Casey’s mother said that after the pandemic there was not much to get her daughter out of the house: “She used to volunteer at a preschool 3 days a week, but that stopped during the pandemic. And it really helped that the program got her out at least once a week." “It was fun," Casey said, "I didn’t last long and I fell on my butt but it gave me the chance to socialize and make new friends and try something new!”

By donating to the The Kevin T. Kendrigan Memorial Scholarship Fund, you are giving more opportunities to people like Casey.  Since the pandemic, families are in need now more than ever and scholarship requests are on the rise. The annual requests have reached as high as 600 individual scholarships.  100% of your donation is tax deductible and will be directed towards scholarships for the 2022 summer camps and programs starting June 13, 2022.
